Paul A. Meares

Mr. Meares is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara, and the University of San Diego School of Law.

Prior to joining Ashford + Wriston, Mr. Meares had been in private practice with emphasis in family, business, bankruptcy and real estate law. Mr. Meares was appointed by the Hawai’i Supreme Court as a District Court Judge for the First Circuit Court and previously a Panel Arbitrator for the Court’s Annexed Arbitration Program. Mr. Meares has served as an Administrative Hearing Officer for the Department of Human Services. Mr. Meares is also a licensed foreign attorney in the Republic of Indonesia, a former partner with the Tarliman Law Firm in East Java and an instructor at the University of Surabaya, School of Law lecturing in the areas of private international law, international arbitration and dispute resolution. Mr. Meares has joined Ashford + Wriston’s Family Law Division.
